Spring has sprung which means you’ve probably already hit the ground running. We want you to have a successful spring and be ready to convert more sales in the fall. Here’s some tips to market your business, increase acres and position yourself as the local precision agriculture expert using the SWAT System.

Webinars

  • With most tradeshows on pause, webinars are the “second best” way to share information with clients and potential clients. Host a webinar for the local growers in your area to talk about the benefits of implementing SWAT and do a Q&A with a current client about how their farming practice has changed for the better since working with you. One of our SWAT Maps staff would be happy to co-host a webinar with you.
  • TIP: Leave time for participants to ask their own questions and offer a credit towards mapping services for every attendee.

In Field Demos

  • This is a great option for clients who are on the fence. Invite them to ride along with you while you map a field and discuss the process. Once customers see their data in real time and the quality of your service, they’ll have a hard time saying no.
  • TIP: Offer the demo at a time and place that is convenient for the client.

Targeted Digital Ads

  • Create paid ads with Google, Facebook, Instagram, and/or Twitter. These can be simple but effective; you don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars to reach the right people and you can be specific with the areas you target.
  • TIP: Make sure you include a captivating call to action! “Call today!”, “Schedule a demo by calling XXX-XXX-XXXX today!” “Register for our webinar today!”

Direct Mail Campaigns

  • Send out flyers to all the growers in your area. There are many ways to do this; CanadaPost and USPS will help you set this up in just a few simple steps. Find out more here: Canada, USA
  • TIP: Offer a deal or time sensitive discount to help create urgency and generate buzz. “Book before {date} and receive 10% off”

SWAT Academy

  • Check out our SWAT Academy courses and learn how to get more out of your SWAT system. This program provides not only practical training but sales tips as well! Note that these courses are for SWAT Partners only.
  • Learn how our founder grew his independent consulting company to a million-dollar business using the SWAT System: https://swatmaps.tovuti.io/courses/course/swat-business
  • TIP: Complete all the courses in SWAT Academy and earn your SWAT Certification so your customers can see you are qualified to create an informed and profitable variable-rate program for their farm.

Website

  • Do you have a website for your business? Most people do business online, and having a digital presence is important. It allows you the ability to control the narrative around your business and control what content is on the internet. Even a simple landing page with your services and contact information is effective!
  • TIP: Good websites don’t have to be expensive! Contact our marketing department if you are interested in getting a SWAT Maps branded website set up for your business.

Social Media

  • Are you present on social media? Sharing and engaging on social media helps with your overall presence online. We suggest having the following accounts at a minimum: Twitter, Facebook, Google My Business
  • TIP: Try implementing a 30/30/30 rule: 30% sales related posts, 30% industry related posts (blogs, article, etc.), and 30% fun, lighthearted content about your company or community.

Community Events

  • Get involved in community events. Being a part of a local community is a great way to increase recognition and credibility for your business. Sponsor local events; donate mapping acres as a door prize, silent auction or raffle item.
  • TIP: Look for community events that involve the audience your business is targeting. For example, getting involved in a snowmobile rally or sponsoring a sporting event is more likely to be profitable than donating to the library or getting involved in a senior’s event.

Content sharing!

  • Team up with us or other companies in your area and share content to reach a wider audience. Write a blog or article about your business and the benefits of working with you and we’ll share it on our website and social media channels.
  • TIP: Be specific as to ways your company is solving problems and providing value to your clients. Offer tips or share knowledge to build your credibility so potential customers will be more likely to think of you when they encounter a problem on their farm in the future.

Give Away Free Stuff

  • Give away hats, pens, decals, notepads, mugs etc. branded with your company name and contact information to get clients representing your business. Do giveaways on social media in exchange for a follow or a sign-up; provide webinar or tradeshow guests an item in exchange for a phone number or email address.
  • TIP: Get creative. Many companies provide mugs, hats, and pens… what items are unique to you, your business, or your community that a customer may appreciate as a gift?
