Croptimistic Technology is an agtech company delivering premium precision agriculture services called SWAT MAPS.

Founded in 2018 by Cory Willness, Shannon Willness, and Derek Massey, Croptimistic has grown from a small western Canada startup into an established international company serving customers across Canada, the United States, Australia, and other global markets. Headquartered in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, the company provides a whole product solution to help agronomy service providers and farmers improve their profitability and sustainability.

At the core of the business is SWAT MAPS (Soil, Water and Topography), the foundational technology that is the stable starting point for precision agronomic decision-making. SWAT MAPS are integrated with proprietary hardware, software, support and a process of execution to create a platform called the SWAT ECOSYSTEM. This platform supports millions of acres annually through a growing network of agronomic service providers and farm customers around the world.

In 2021, Croptimistic secured a Series A investment from Greg Stewart, former CEO of Farm Credit Canada, and Forage Capital Partners (Forage) of Calgary, Alberta, to accelerate commercialization and geographic expansion. In 2023, the company completed a Series B with Forage and acquired CropPro Consulting, expanding its’ farmer service capacity.

Since inception, Croptimistic has achieved significant traction and product-market fit. It has grown revenue more than 50x and has achieved profitability in 2025. This is an accomplishment achieved by relatively few agtech companies. The strength of this adoption and retention is captured in an anonymous farmer survey reporting a 6:1 ROI on annual service fees.

Today, Croptimistic continues to improve and build on it’s strengths in software, artificial intelligence and automated sensor technology. The company remains focused on delivering measurable value to farmers while building one of the world's leading precision agriculture platforms.
